In a blog post on SB Nation Card Chronicle, Rutherford said he harbors no ill will and and wishes his former employer and colleagues well. He mentioned that after working in different professional environments the move into radio was challenging and he’s glad he took the risk because it allowed him and Ramsey to grow from being two guys who didn’t know each other well, to partners with a top 10 rated afternoon sports show.
Rutherford added that the past few months have been overwhelming due to the schedule demand of trying to tackle multiple jobs. He says he’s looking forward to coming up for air and focusing his energies on his website work and a couple of other projects that he has lined up for the spring and summer.
The exit of Rutherford and Ramsey leaves a gaping hole in The Ville’s lineup. One name that would make a ton of sense for the station is Zach McCrite. The former St. Louis, Oklahoma City and Louisville sports radio host has done fill-ins in the market since returning home in January 2016. Whether he or the station has interest is unknown. Once further details are available we’ll be sure to pass them along.
