Entercom, the Miami Heat and the Miami Cancer Institute have partnered to help the fight against cancer.
The trios’ signature event comes November 7th, when five Entercom owned Miami radio stations, led by 790 The Ticket, will conduct a radiothon spanning 6am – 7pm from American Airlines Arena, leading into the night’s Heat game against the Spurs.
“We are committed to making a difference in our communities and invite all to tune in across all five stations November 7 to hear inspiring stories from Heat athletes and Miami Cancer Institute patients, doctors and nurses, and to helping us fight this disease that impacts us all,” said Keriann Worley, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom South Florida.
While on-air earlier this week, Jonathan Zaslow, co-host of The Ticket’s morning program, announced plans for a unique challenge to help raise money during the radiothon, which he referred to as a ‘Dribble Drive.’
“Cancer sucks,” began Zaslow when announcing his challenge. “Most of us have had to deal with it in some form in our lives. I’ve wanted to do something worthwhile to help raise awareness/funds to fight against cancer, but just haven’t found the right opportunity. This is that opportunity. On November 7th, during the Heat.Help.Cure. Radiothon, I’ll be doing a ‘Dribble Drive.’ I’ll be dribbling the full 13 miles from Miami Cancer Institute to American Airlines Arena, raising money to support MCI. I’ll make it just in time to catch tipoff of the Heat and Spurs. BAD NEWS for the Spurs, and BAD NEWS for Cancer.”
Donations will be accepted during the November 7th radiothon, but you can help find a cure for cancer today by texting “HeatCure18” to 243725.
