David Schultz announced he’s joining Mobile, Alabama’s Sports Radio 105.5 WNSP as the station’s program director and afternoon drive co-host.
Schultz and his new co-host, Jordan Glass, will debut their show for WNSP on Monday, August 12th, broadcasting every weekday from 3 – 6pm.
Schultz most recently served as the morning host and program director of 103.7 The Game in Lafayette, LA, departing this past March following a six year tenure. Schultz joined 103.7 The Game in 2013, after spending two years away from the sports radio industry. Prior to those two years, where he worked in the private sector, Schultz was an on-air contributor at WQAM in Miami from 2009-2011.
“Time for a new challenge and I am very excited to begin a new job in Mobile, AL as Program Director for Sports Radio 105.5 WNSP, the first FM sports radio station in the country,” Schultz wrote on Twitter.
Schultz and Glass will replace WNSP’s afternoon show hosted by Creg Stephenson and Randy Kennedy. Sports Drive with Randy & Creg is finishing up its tenure on WNSP this week. After spending four years with Sports Radio 105.5 in Mobile, Randy and Creg announced their departure last Friday.
“Randy decided some time ago to leave the station, and though I was given the opportunity to stay on, I chose to make my exit as well,” Stephenson wrote on Twitter in the announcement. In addition to co-hosting WNSP’s afternoon show, Randy also served as the station’s program director, a role that Schultz is taking over. Creg, who noted a lack of free time as a husband and father holding down two media jobs, will continue his work as a sportswriter for AL.com.
“Thanks LaFayette for everything. You will always have a special place in my heart,” Schultz added when announcing his new gig with WNSP. “Mobile, get ready, we are going to have a blast.”
