León Krauze is departing KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles after a decade in the No. 1 station in the market for local news regardless of language, is moving up the company to the National Network News.
Univision announced that Krauze will co-anchor the network’s “Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna” alongside journalist Patricia Janiot. Krauze’s first day at his new position will be on Jan. 24th, and relocate from Southern California to South Florida.
“Doing journalism in Los Angeles and serving the extraordinary Hispanic community of Southern California at Univision 34 during these ten years has been the greatest privilege of my career as a journalist. Local television in the most important market in the country has given me many lessons and emotions. I am excited to now join the great Univision national news team and to be able to work side-by-side with a consummate professional like Patricia Janiot,” Krauze said.

The Mexico native has several awards under his belt in his career as a journalist winning nine Emmys, two Golden Mics, an Edward R. Murrow award, and a Southern California Journalism Award from the Los Angeles Press Club.
