This year is a midterm election year, and Variety reports that MSNBC is getting ahead of the curb to provide coverage.

When host Chuck Todd appears on MSNBC’s “Meet The Press Daily” Wednesday and Thursday, he will do so from Georgia. Todd will meet Georgia officials and candidates for office.

As the “Meet the Press” host gathers with officials and candidates in Georgia, it’s part of a bid by NBC News to extend out across the country to find the most important stories that will impact this year’s midterms and the 2024 presidential race.

“You cannot be a national news organization and cover the campaign process from Washington and New York,” Carrie Budoff Brown, the NBC News senior vice president, said.

Over the following weeks and months, NBC News correspondents will pursue influential individuals in battleground states. The hope is that the network will get ahead-of-the-curve information to news and politics enthusiasts.

Todd intends to visit battleground states in the coming months, with special “Meet The Midterms” broadcasts that will examine Senate and gubernatorial races in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.

CNN National Correspondent Nadia Romero criticized pro-life advocates for reportedly interrupting her live shot outside of the last clinic to provide abortions in Mississippi. Romero was at the clinic following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The court announced its decision Friday after an unnamed source leaked its draft opinion last month.

Following the decision, abortion will likely become illegal in Mississippi in almost all cases within the next few weeks. A video posted on Mediate shows Romero’s standup guarded by a Mississippi police officer.

While reporting from the clinic at the center of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, the Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Romero claims that pro-life protestors were “threatening” and “confrontational” to her and the camera crew.

“It has not been a good morning here. It has been confrontational. It has been very threatening,” Romero said outside the last standing abortion clinic in the state following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“They want to be on TV, let’s put them on TV,” the reporter said, stepping to the side. She reported the men did not identify themselves by name or say what group they were affiliated with,” Romero added.

On Friday, the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade, which now hands over the determination of abortion legality to individual states.

It didn’t take long for news outlets to begin sparring on the issue, and one of the more animated ones occurred on Fox News. Contributors Leo Terrell and Jessica Tarlov disputed multiple times on the topic following the ruling.

Tarlov, a Democratic strategist and co-host of The Five, said that this decision would have dire consequences, something that made Terrell shake his head and interrupt multiple times.

“Alito made it clear that he didn’t think this it would expand to contraception and same-sex marriage, but [Clarence] Thomas said he thought they should be reevaluated, and when you consider the fact that Justices [Brett] Kavanaugh and [Neil] Gorsuch lied to the senators that they met with —” Tarlov said, per Mediaite

“They followed the law. You may not like the law, but we are a nation of laws. That’s what they did. What they basically said was if you don’t like the ruling, you go to the states,” Terrell fired back.

Tarlov and Terrell continued clashing in another segment while discussing the potential consequences.

She said “every man that takes part in conceiving a child” should be on the hook for child support, leading to Terrell shaking his head while muttering, “oh God.”

“Stop saying, ‘Oh God!’” Tarlov said.

“I can’t believe you’re using this quality time to push a democratic agenda. Go ahead. I’ll be quiet. Go ahead. Keep talking. It’s ridiculous,” Terrell snapped.

“I’m sorry. Were you pregnant recently?” Tarlov stated.

“Every time I come on this show, I’m attacked,” Terrell mumbled.
