Production company Benztown Audio released a touching tribute to the late Jim Bohannon on Sunday after the radio host died this weekend.
Radio Hall-of-Famer Jim Bohannon has died in hospice care in South Carolina at 78 after his battle with esophageal cancer.
“Jim Bohannon is a legend. He’s also the number one gentleman of talk radio. His absence from radio will be deeply felt."
Five decades and lots of memories later, Jim Bohannon signed off for the final time Friday night while introducing the audience to his replacement.
"I’ve enjoyed every minute of our daily nighttime town hall with my guests, callers, and all of America."
Bohannon thanked his audience for their support during a pre-recorded message that aired during one of his programs.
Bohannon thanked his guest hosts but did not divulge specifics about his condition.
In a release, the organization said the ceremony will take place at April’s Achievement in Broadcasting event at NAB Show in Las Vegas.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on August 7 at the Branson Hilton Convention Center in Branson, Missouri.
